Your professional tour guide will meet you at Piazza San Marco in front of San Marco Basilica for your tour of the Accademia Gallery.
From there, you will walk 190 meters to the Accademia Gallery, where you will skip the lines and enter one of the most famous museums in Florence to view Michelangelo’s iconic David sculpture.
The museum also hosts important collections of Italian masters dating from the 13th through the 16th centuries which also includes the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini. This less often seen treasure houses a marvelous collection of historical musical instruments which represent life at court for the Grand Dukes of Tuscany including a pianoforte by Bartolomeo Cristofori and an original Stradivarius violin from 1716.
Your guide will then lead you to explore the museum’s collection of Italian masterworks, including the powerful imagery of Michelangelo’s unfinished ‘Prisoners’ which were conceived to adorn the tomb of Pope Julius II.
